Lottery scam is reported

A concerned householder in Banbridge, reported a charity lottery scam to the police, last week.

One householder, deemed the ticket sellers suspicious and reported the incident to the police.

The police are reminding householders the Hospice is not selling lottery tickets door to door in Banbridge.

Enquiries were carried out and police discovered thieves had stolen two lottery books from the Southern Area Hospice service shop at Rathfriland Street, Banbridge.

The stolen books ticket numbers are 58300 – 58499.

On Facebook, a spokesperson for the police said, “We have been assured by Hospice staff they do not sell tickets door to door in Banbridge and any person that would sell tickets for them at any given location will always carry identification.

“We would be very keen to speak with the unauthorised ticket sellers.” Police can be contacted on 101.
