Librarian loss 'a sad day' for school

FROM: Concerned (via email)

I have read the article about the loss of the librarian at Tannaghmore Primary school and I am dismayed.

Literacy is the key to the education of all children and the library in Tannaghmore School - run so ably by Mrs Marie Brady - provides the children there with an invaluable resource.

Tannaghmore is one of the few schools with a full time librarian and hundreds of children past and present have been enriched by this well run and attractive library. Surely if we wish to inculcate a love of books and therefore promote children's literacy we should be preserving the post of librarian there.

The loss of such an important member of staff is a sad day for education at Tannaghmore Primary School .
