A-level results helpline in operation

A helpline is on hand for the thousands of Northern Irish students who are receiving their A-level results on Thursday morning.

The CCEA exams helpline will be open from 7am, offering advice for students on what their next steps may be.

It will be open from 9am until 5pm until Friday August 28.

CCEA examinations manager Michael Crossan said: “We recognise that results day can be an anxious time for students, their families and schools.

“CCEA’s examinations helpline is available to those receiving results and who may need guidance or assistance from our experienced staff.”

The CCEA hotline can be reached on (028) 9026 1260.

Alternatively, emails can be sent to [email protected].

Additionally, Queen’s University Belfast will also be operating a service for those needing advice.

It is open from 9.30am to 6pm on Thursday and Friday. The number is (028) 90 973838.

Meanwhile, the Public Health Agency has issued a plea for parents to talk to their children about the risks associated with drinking and taking drugs, with thousands of teenagers expected to be heading out to pubs and parties to celebrate their results.
