Sinn Féin MLA John O’Dowd has called for vigilance in tackling and preventing burglaries over the Christmas period.
His comments come after a number of incidents at local residential areas and local businesses in recent weeks across Upper Bann.
The MLA has urged everyone to look out for others, especially their elderly friends and neighbours.
Mr O’Dowd said: “There have been a number of incidents in residential areas and at local businesses over recent times, and it is understandable that people would be concerned about the prospect of burglary.
“I would ask people to be vigilant and to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity in the run up to Christmas.
“We should all keep an eye out for our friends and neighbours, particularly for those elderly residents.”
Mr O’Dowd added: “I would ask anyone who does witness any suspicious activity to contact the PSNI immediately.”
