A Huntly Road man who loved motorcycling as a teenager and displayed a great sense of fun has sadly passed away.
Wilfred Cannaway, who was born on September 22, 1944, lived his early life in Annaclone and Tullyear.
In his younger years he developed a keen interest in all things mechanical. In 1971 he married Eileen, set up home in Banbridge and later built their present home at Huntly Road in which he took great pride.
Wilfred took early retirement 18 years ago due to ill health. He then developed a group of friends to visit and chat with, he and Eileen enjoyed going on holiday during these years. Wilfred will be sadly missed by all for his sense of fun, his ability to chat to anyone and his helpfulness to everyone. He is survived by his wife Eileen, brother Raymond and sister Jean.
The funeral took place from his home on Sunday to the New Cemetery where a large crowd of mourners came to pay their last respects. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Banbridge Group Surgery.
William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
