Karen Curran is on top of the world after Globe Trophy triumph

Banbridge Academy geography teacher Karen Curran scored a fantastic 41 points to win ‘The Globe’ Trophy.

As many as 56 ladies competed for the Whan Family sponsored competition for the Ladies Endeavour Award on Tuesday 16 June .

The trophy was presented by the Whan Family.

As a result of her five under par score of 41 points, Karen’s handicap was reduced from 20 to 18.

Five other ladies had exceptionally good scores which resulted in handicap cuts as the summer season gets into full swing.

The runner up with 39 points and reducing her handicap from 29 to 28 was Ann Blevins.

Section A was won by Sheelagh English with 39 points (handicap cut from 20 to 18)

Section B was won by Suzanne Murfitt with 37 points (handicap cut from 29 to 28)

Section C was won by Angela Magee Senior with 37 points (handicap cut from 33 to 32.

Two ladies had twos Carol Quinn and Mildred Hodgett, both at the 15th.
