Junction One goes up for sale

Junction One, along with The Outlet in Banbridge, are up for sale after being put on the market by London-based property firm DTZ.

The two outlet centres have gone on the market with an overall guide price of around £60m.

Leona Barr, Centre Manager for Junction One, said: “We welcome that the Junction One complex is on the market as it brings great potential for future development and continued investment.

“When we opened in 2004 Junction One’s ‘outlet’ offer marked a new era in shopping for Northern Ireland customers.

“Our overall aim was to provide a unique mixed use family orientated destination which would attract visitors from throughout Northern Ireland and beyond.

“Now the complex also includes a ten screen Omniplex cinema, 90 room Holiday Inn Express Hotel, adventure golf course, 9 coffee shops and restaurants, Northern Ireland’s largest ASDA as well as Homebase and Lidl.”

Ms Barr said that with the complex enterring its second decade, the momentum for growth continues following the recent announcement of a further £1.25million of investment by new and existing stores and additional job creation.

“We believe that the time is right for new owners to build on the success already achieved and to input additional investment to enable the complex to reach its full potential.

“The on-site management team has brought together a winning combination with regard to location, tenant mix and critical mass which assures Junction One of a very positive future.

“This sale offers a tremendous opportunity for an investor with vision who will pick up the baton and add to the 1035 strong employee base thereby maintaining its valuable contribution to Antrim and the local economy and we look forward to working with whoever that turns out to be.”
