Jump in number caught drink driving
Police increased their patrols in the area as part of their commitment to tackling rural crime and as a result have seen an increase in the number caught for drink driving.
Area Commander, Chief Inspector Sam Donaldson is concerned that some people still choose to drink and drive.

Hide AdHe said: “Whilst it’s good news that we are arresting people who are drink driving, it is very worrying that some motorists still think it’s ok to drink and drive. My message is simple: Never, ever drink and drive.
“I am committed to tackling all types of rural crime and I will continue to deploy your local police officers to keep the public safe. If you are involved in thefts or burglaries or if you drink and drive you will be caught and we will put you before the courts.
“I would urge anyone with information to report it to police immediately and help prevent crimes from happening and keep our communities safer.”
