In the most recent Department of Education inspection Jolly Jesters was awarded the top grade possible – ‘Outstanding’ – being one of only two facilities with this grade in Dromore.

Jolly Jesters pre-school education plan is underpinned by the central elements and values of the Early Years Curriculum in Northern Ireland. The focus is on discovery and problem solving through play rather than ‘teaching’.

Jolly Jesters curriculum covers the six areas of learning, is child-directed, child-centred, and tailored to the needs of each individual child.

The well-planned and rich variety of activities and experiences encompass essential basic skills whilst affording plenty of opportunity for varied and direct experiences. While encompassing all aspects of children’s learning and development, the main focus is on play and fun.

As manager, Hilary Duddy explained: “We understand that children learn at their own pace and thus treat each child as an individual moving forward step by step. Our planned work emphasises process rather than product, allowing children to experience their own stage of development, while helping them feel success without pressure.

“The staff work hard to facilitate learning within a safe, stimulating environment. A sense of independence, self-discipline and a positive attitude to learning is promoted at all levels.” If you are interested in viewing the Jolly Jesters facility, give Hilary or Noel a call on 028 92 693869.
