Join in with National Poetry Day at library

DROMORE Library will celebrate its refurbishment on National Poetry Day 2012 when poet and writer Deirdre Cartmill, will read from her works on Thursday October 4 at 2pm.

Deirdre’s debut collection Midnight Solo was published by Lagan Press in 2004. Her second collection The Return of the Buffalo will be published in 2012. She holds an MA with Distinction in Creative Writing from Queen’s University, Belfast and is an experienced creative writing workshop facilitator. She is part of Poetry Ireland’s Writers in Schools scheme, has facilitated workshops for Poetry in Motion and tutors for the WEA.

She writes for film and television as Deirdre Alexander. Her short film Two Little Boys is currently being filmed as part of Northern Ireland Screen’s Short Steps Scheme.
