Jane Eyre to be staged in Solitude Park

Banbridge’s Solitude Park will provide the stage as Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council presents a performance of Jane Eyre on Friday, August 7 .

Chapterhouse Theatre Company, who previously brought literary classics such as Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility to life in the park, is expected to deliver, a council spokesperson said: “another powerful adaptation of this beautiful story of undying love by Charlotte Brontë”.

Jane Eyre is the tale of the young governess and her arrival at the mysterious Thornfield Hall, deep in the Yorkshire moors, where she meets the enigmatic Mr Rochester .

So begins what has been hailed the most unforgettable of love stories.

“Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy to what is certain to be another captivating performance by a highly acclaimed theatre company.,” said the spokesperson.

“Pack a picnic and bring your family along to this free event.

“A range of refreshments such as strawberries and cream, tea and coffee, popcorn and slush puppies will also be on sale. “
