Iris came from Leicester and made Banbridge her home

Cline Walk, Banbridge on April 17. She was the dearly loved wife of the late Henry Bramall who predeceased her some 17 years ago.

Iris, as she was familiarly known to her many friends and acquaintances, was a woman of a cheery and friendly disposition and was highly respected by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Coming from Leicester with her late husband in the mid fifties when he took up employment with Lotus and Delta, they very soon made Banbridge their home. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church and of 1st Banbridge Trefoil Guild and was known to many for the annual trips to Blackpool. Home and family were always closest to her heart.

She is survived by two daughters Anne and Binky, three sons Chris, Laurence and David, daughter-in-law Ruth, grandchildren Louise and Christopher and great grandchildren Robin, Poppy and Ruby.

The funeral took place privately from her home for a service in Holy Trinity Parish Church on Friday April 20.

The Rev Mark Greenstreet paid a fitting tribute to the esteem in which Iris was held, assisted by Captain Geoffrey Walmsley. The hymns “The Lords My Shepherd , Abide with me and to God Be The Glory” were sung with Mr Roly Anketel presiding at the organ. The cremation followed at Roselawn Crematorium.

Iris’s ashes were interred in the New Cemetery with her late husband on Monday April 23. Family flowers were placed on the grave.
