Investment at Woodburn PS was a ‘high priority’
An investment of £3million to provide a new school building at the rural Woodburn Primary has been welcomed locally.
The funding was announced last week by Education Minister John O’Dowd following a long-running campaign by the school to have facilities upgraded for pupils.
Alderman Jim Brown, a member of the North Eastern Education and Library Board and the school’s board of governors, said: “I have been campaigning for some time that Woodburn Primary be dealt with as a high priority for improvement, so I was delighted to hear the news that it is to receive the funding.”
