Toolkit launch

Community Places together with the Causeway Rural and Urban Network, North Antrim Community Network and Ballymoney Resource Centre would like to invite you to a local launch of the BIG Lottery Funded on-line Community Planning Toolkit.

At the launch you will find out how the toolkit can help communities across the region build stronger relationships and gain a better understanding of the Community Planning Process which will be introduced as part of the restructuring of local councils.

The toolkit explores five key themes which are essential for effective Community Planning Practice including, Community Engagement and Working Together and highlights and directs users to useful tools, resources, case studies and podcasts. It is a valuable resource to help people and organisations understand, learn about and get involved in Community Planning to help shape services in their communities.

The launch will take place at Causeway Enterprise Agency on Tuesday 16 October at 10.30am.

THE chemist on rota duty this Sunday in Ballycastle is JJA, 10 Ann Street, who will be open for urgent prescriptions from 12 noon to 1 p.m.

The Causeway Cardiac Support Group have announced their programme for 2012/2013.

The agenda is as follows:

13th November 2012 - W.F. Marhall-The Baird of Tyrine. Speaker: Alex Blair.

11th December 2012 - Christmas Dinner.

The Annual Dinner and social dinner will take place on Tuesday 11th December at the Royal Court Hotel Portrush at 7pm sharp.As usual music will be provided by Liam McLaughlin. It is hoped to have one other artist present. Cost is £19.00 per person.

8th January 2013 - Titanic Remembered. Speaker: George Dallas.

12th February 2013 - The way things used to be. DVD Presentation.

13th March 2013 - Kennedy Kain Mcarthur. Speaker : Keith Beattie.

9th April 2013 - Growing up in a country shop in Donegal. Speaker: Pearl Hutchinson

14th May 2013 - A.G.M

June 2013 - Bus trip to be arranged.

Money to be collected at each meeting, £1 each please. Car parking is free for members. Car parking charges paid by for the Causeway Cardiac Support group.

Causeway Volunteer Centre are currently organising their Autumn/Winter 2012 training programme and would like to hear what training needs volunteers and organisations may have.

They have a range of courses available including: Child Protection Training, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Training, First Aid Training / Paediatric First Aid Training and Designated Officer for Child Protection Training

RBL AGM

THE Annual General Meeting of Ballymoney Branch, The Royal British Legion will be held in the Clubrooms at Townhead Street, Ballymoney on Thursday 25th October at 8pm.

The Chairman requests that all members attend. All nominations for Officers and Committee must be entered on the election notice as posted on the notice board.

Membership fees are now due. The Secretary will be available in the Clubrooms on a Saturday evening leading up to the AGM from 8 - 10pm for renewals.
