Information evening for Banbridge charities

Community and voluntary sector groups in Banbridge district are invited to attend an information session to be delivered by the Charity Commission on Thursday May 1 at 7.00pm in Banbridge Enterprise Centre.

Organised by Banbridge District Council, this free session will help local groups understand the recent changes in charity law which have an impact on all organisations within the community and voluntary sector. This event will help those groups understand whether they need to register as a charity, how they can register and what it means to be a registered charity.

Robert Stockley, Community Development Officer for Banbridge District Council, underlined the importance of the information session: “Compulsory registration of charities in Northern Ireland began on Monday 16 December 2013 so this session is very timely in helping groups become aware of their their responsibilities regarding registration and operating a charity.”

Anyone wishing to attend the information session must register by contacting Marion Mitchell on 028 4066 0605 or email [email protected].
