Christopher Potts (20), Pine View Court, Gilford, is accused of the theft of a Case tractor valued at £8,000 on February 24 this year and handling stolen goods, namely a tractor.

A police officer said that she believed she could connect the defendant to the charges. A solicitor representing Potts said his client was not in court because his wife, who is seven months pregnant, felt a few pains and he had taken her to hospital.

District Judge, Mr Paul Copeland, adjourned the case until June 16 saying that he wanted to see some confirmation of the hospital attendance.
