Home improvements in the Sunnylands Estate

Residents from the Sunnylands estate were being urged to attend community meetings in February 1986.

The committee of the Sunnylands Tenants and Ratepayers Association made an appeal for the “silent majority” to take an active part in the campaign to improve homes in the Carrickfergus housing estate.

A spokesman for the association said: “If the people who live in the estate really are concerned about the future maintenance of their homes, it would benefit them to attend meetings which are held in the Sunnylands Community Centre.”

He added; “We view with grave concern the cuts in the Housing Executive budget, especially as it affects the planned refurbishing of the Sunnylands estate.”
