History group launches new book

DROMARA History Group which has been meeting for the past 15 years, has launched a new book.

Members of the group have often said that they should write a book and record information for future generations.

This has now at last been done and the group will be launching its book, 'Dromara In The Shadow of Slieve Croob, The Source of the River Lagan’ on Wednesday, June 9, in the Lagan Park Centre, Dromara, at 7.30pm.

This event is being held as part of the festival week in Dromara. The group is also hosting two other events during that week. Saturday June 5 is the annual outing and this year members are going to Armagh City, visiting Navan Fort, the two cathedrals and other places of interest.

Morning coffee an evening meal and all entrance fees is included in the price of 30. Bookings can still be made by telephoning 02897532331. Also during festival week the group will be having a talk on Tuesday June 8 by Noel and Lynne Hanna, the local couple who have conquered Everest.
