She was the dearly loved wife of Victor.

Affectionately known as Josie, she had been in failing health for four years but bore her illness with true Christian fortitude. Formerly Miss Josie Wilson, she had lived at Moorefield and was employed for a number of years at Downshoes Ltd. After its closure she worked at the Optical Factory in Lurgan.

A woman of a cheery and friendly disposition, she was held in the highest respect by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Victor, daughter Sharon Halliday, son-in-law Cyril, grandson Paul, his wife Carol, granddaughter Charlene, great granddaughter Jordan, great grandson Scott and great granddaughter Lucy and sister Mrs Philomena Finnegan. To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place on Wednesday November 5 from her home in Primrose Gardens, for a service in Donacloney Presbyterian Church. Her minister the Rev Adrian Moffett paid a fitting tribute to Josephine’s life. The hymns ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd’ and ‘Abide With Me’ were sung and Mrs Myrtle Campbell presided at the organ.

The interment took place afterwards in the adjoining churchyard. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu are being sent to William Bell and Co Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Donacloney 
Presbyterian Church.
