Heads to crack eggs at local Eurofest event

The event is just one of a number of activities planned for the ‘Eurofest’ day, by members of the youth group at Banbridge Road Presbyterian Church, Dromore.

They organised the event using European Funding, which was available to them for any project that would involve the local community in the run up to the European Elections.

With a focus on food the group are delighted that Brian Donnelly, a chef from James Street South restaurant and cookery school in Belfast, will be demonstrating a three course meal with some European elements.

A crepe challenge will give children a chance to try their hand at pancake tossing and local woman Margaret Pepper will give a bread baking demonstration.

A BBQ and hog roast will be available on the day along with a selection of European cheeses, Latvian stews and a sweet stall. A number of other fun activities are planned including Nomad Cage Football, games, a live band and stalls.

Minister’s wife Mariann Trueman said: “the SNATCH group has put a lot of thought into what they could do, and with the help of their youth coordinator Stu Armstrong and church leader Irvine Abraham, they have come up with this idea.

“It sounds really good and is an opportunity for all of us in the church to work together as a team to offer the very best of what Christ has given us as a fellowship.

“We want to embrace this day to share God’s love with others in all sorts of ways.

“Hopefully with some effort we will have many people from all kinds of backgrounds come along, and it’s our goal to make them welcome and take every opportunity to show the love of Christ.”

Eurofest will take place from 1pm to 4pm at Banbridge Road Presbyterian Church.
