Mr Simpson is no stranger to supporting families and local groups within Upper Bann and this year is no different.

The Giving Tree is a new venture for the MP but as he has witnessed so many times a loving generous vibe runs throughout Upper Bann and he is hopeful that the people will support him to help others less fortunate this Christmas.

Speaking at the launch Mr Simpson said: “Can you imagine not receiving a gift this Christmas? This is a simple yet powerful way to help families less fortunate especially at Christmas time.

“It is a joyful time of year and I am hoping that the Giving Tree spreads that feeling with the help of the very generous people of Upper Bann.

“The tree holds gift tags with different age groups; it allows you to purchase a small gift (approximately £7).

“Gifts can include, toys, hats, gloves or scarfs, all of which will be delivered to the Craigavon Food Bank and they will identify children most in need of a gift this Christmas.

“So, while out shopping for gifts and treats why not take a moment to buy a present for a child less fortunate than most?

“I am asking that all gifts are returned with their tag by 18th December to any of the DUP Advice Centres; Banbridge, Lurgan, Portadown.”
