Get involved in the World’s Biggest Coffee morning

VICE Chair of Banbridge District Council, Councillor Elizabeth Ingram is encouraging everyone in Banbridge to support or take part in “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning”, this year on Friday September 28 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is in its 22nd year and is one of the largest fundraising events in the UK. Last year across Northern Ireland alone over 800 coffee mornings were held raising an amazing total of £226,000. This year with your help we want to make it the biggest ever.

Macmillan’s fundraising manager in the area Joanne Young said, “Macmillan is available to all cancer patients and their families from the moment they receive their cancer diagnosis. Our doctors and nurses offer specialist medical care and emotional support, while our benefits advisors help cancer patients get the government benefits and grants they are entitled to.

“Macmillan will even provide grants to people with cancer who are struggling financially. All the services we offer are essential, and we rely on the money raised from events like the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to fund them. So we are asking the people of Banbridge to put a smile on their mug and help Macmillan reach more people affected by cancer in their area.”

Vice Chair of Banbridge District Council, Councillor Elizabeth Ingram has supported the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event throughout the years and said, “It is a fantastic community event for everyone to get involved in. I am delighted to support the event in aid of such a great cause.”

Fundraising manager Joanne Young added: “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a really fun event that is so easy to take part in, especially as you can tailor it to suit yourself. If you can’t do it on 28th September, then pick another day, if you’re not keen on coffee and would rather have cocktails or even herbal tea then that’s fine as well. People can be so busy, that catching up with friends, workmates or even family can be difficult. This event gives them a reason to make time for what matters while also doing something really valuable for people with cancer and their families.”

“All that matters is that you take part and help us raise more from this year’s coffee morning than ever before and remember that all money raised locally will be spent locally”
