Generous shoppers raise £650 for Red Cross

TESCO shoppers in Banbridge have shown their charitable side by raising a total of £650 for the Red Cross.

The amount was raised through a series of collections in Tesco stores across Northern Ireland which ran over the weekend of July 1st and 2nd.

A range of services offered by the Red Cross in Banbridge and further afield will benefit from the cash injection.

The organisation helps vulnerable people in a variety of ways, including providing assistance on their return home after a hospital stay, offering fire and emergency support, first aid, wheelchair loan and skin camouflage.

Julie Campbell, the charity’s fundraiser in Northern Ireland. said, “We are very grateful to Tesco for hosting our Red Cross Appeal collection and to all the wonderful people who volunteered their time to hold the collecting buckets. And, of course, we’re particularly grateful to everyone who contributed.

Tesco NI marketing manager, Caoimhe Mannion, added, “We are pleased to be able to support the wonderful work that the Red Cross does and has done over the past 141 years.”
