Gareth lives the American dream with Cinemagic

Dromore teenager Gareth Greenfield will be living the American dream this week when he jets off to LA with Cinemagic.

The 18 year old is one of the Young Ambassadors representing Northern Ireland at the launch of the Cinemagic LA Festival.

Gareth is joined by Meghan McArdle, 19, from Armagh, Tory Killen,18, from Portaferry, Natasha Mudi, 18, from Spa, Jonathan Collins, 19, from Sion Mills, Ellie Alcorn, 19, from Newtownards, Ruth Rodgers, 18, from Belfast, Bethany Sloan, 20, from Newtownabbey, Nathan Stevenson, 18, from Lisburn and Chloe McAllister, 19 from Ballygowan.

The Young Ambassadors are helping to launch the sixth annual film festival for children and young people, which runs until March 15.

They will also meet with young people from America for a host of film related opportunities throughout their time in the States.

This year’s much anticipated Cinemagic LA Festival has the support of top industry professionals and film and television studios including The Jim Henson Company, HBO, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Aero Film, New York Film Academy, Remote Control Studios, BAFTA Los Angeles, E!News, American Idol, actress Paula Malcomson (Hunger Games, Deadwood, Ray Donovan) and TV Presenter Ross King (ITV Good Morning Britain, Lorraine) who will all host events ranging from Q&A sessions, set and studio tours and workshops.

Through Cinemagic masterclasses, screenings, Q&As, and workshops, young people will get the unique opportunity to hear first-hand from those in the industry and gain an insight to the various roles and careers that exist.
