Funeral to be held for Cookstown fire victim

Victor Wilson was found dead by firefighters who were called to a report of a fire at his Lissan Road home on Tuesday morning.Mr Wilson, who was in his 80's, lived alone and was described by the Chair of Mid Ulster Council Cllr Trevor Wilson as 'a gentleman'.A funeral service will be held in a local funeral home at 1pm, followed by interment in Cookstown Cemetery.Fire Appliances from Cookstown and Dungannon Stations attended the scene but no firefighting action was taken. There were signs of a fire within the property which had burnt itself out before the arrival of the emergency services. An investigation has been taking place into the cause of the fire which is believed to have been accidental.
