Founder member of Free Presbyterian church

He and his late wife resided at 4 Cedar View, Lenaderg.

Freddie, as he was affectionately known to his many friends and acquaintances, worked for a time in the textile business.

He married Miss Dorothy Turkington from Hallsmill but she predeceased him some 15 years ago.

Freddie was a devout Christian and was one of the Foundation Members of Banbridge Free Presbyterian Church.

He was always speaking of how wonderful his Saviour was. He was associated with John Dickson and was involved with the Evangelical Society at Milltown Old School.

He was also a member of the Ulster Special Constabulary.

Freddie is survived by one sister, Irene, brothers-in-law Robert and Noel, nephews and nieces.

To these and all other relatives, sincere sympathy has been extended. The funeral took place from Banbridge Free Presbyterian Church on Friday to the New Cemetery.

The hymns, “The Lord’s My Shepherd” and “What a Friend we have in Jesus” were sung.

Mrs Helen Bowman played the organ and the congregation heard the minister, Rev W Whiteside, give a challenging address, while speaking about Freddie’s Christian principles.

The interment took place in the New Cemetery.

Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu are being sent to William Bell and Co,. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, for Parkinson’s Disease Society.
