Formula 1 win for St. Colmcille’s
St. Colmcille’s PS year 7 pupils Sofia Agnew, Richard McCann, Sian Zensque, Jack Hamil, Orla MAtamney and Mark McCormick, who won the NI Formula 1 in Schools competition for the second successive year.
In preparation for the competition the pupils completed a STEM project on the Science of the Car, designing and making a model F1 car for racing.
The pupils also had to make a presentation on the project as well as be interviewed on their understanding of the manufacturing process.
At the awards ceremony the pupils won the ‘Best Presentation’ category as well as coming away with the top award.
The project is now entered for the UK finals in Birmingham on March 11. INBT08-212AC
