Former Dromara woman Sarah was a weaver in Hilden Mill

The passing of Mrs Sarah Tate took place at Seapatrick Care Home on Thursday February 23. She was the dearly loved wife of the late Jacob Tate who predeceased her a number of years ago and formerly of Dromara.

She was the dearly loved mother of Edith. She had reached the grand age of 83 years. Formerly Miss Sarah Maguire married Jacob in 1965. She was employed as a textile worker in Hilden Mill outside Lisburn and there she learned the skills of weaving.

After this she left to bring up her daughter Edith and then was employed as a caretaker in 2nd Dromara Presbyterian Church. She was a regular attender at 2nd Dromara Presbyterian Church and very seldom missed.
