A farmer checking on his livestock in the Drumbroneth Road area of Dromore contacted police to say that a number of sheep were missing from a flock grazing on nearby farmland on February 26. A search for the animals eventually located them in an outbuilding.

Police have asked farmers to be vigilant with their animals and be on the lookout for the movements of any unfamiliar vehicles or individuals.

Farming communities are closely knit with good, constant lines of communication and individuals will be highly tuned to new faces or vehicles, or suspicious activity. Working in partnership with police, they are one of the most effective tools in combating rural crime.
