Enjoy a seasonalselection of musicat Songs of Praise

Thanks to funding secured from Banbridge District Council’s Good Relations Programme, ‘Songs of Praise’, a local community initiative led by Banbridge Inter-clergy Fellowship, makes a welcome return with two special Christmas performances on Sunday December 15.

The Iveagh Cinema, Banbridge is the venue for this celebration of seasonal songs & classical music with performances at 3.30pm and 7.30pm.

Both events will feature Banbridge Ladies Community Choir with piano accompaniment by Ivan Black and conducted by Nikolay Ivanov. A solo performance by Aoife Hutchinson and performances by a String Quartet is guaranteed to deliver two enjoyable shows of live entertainment.

Ivan Black is a renowned pianist, composer, conductor and adjudicator, recognised for his work with the BBC and Ulster Orchestra. Conductor Nikolay Ivanov is originally from Bulgaria and now residing in Banbridge town. He and his wife Vessie are experienced classical musicians having played in a number of classical orchestras and while Nikolay is a qualified conductor who plays viola and guitar, Vessie plays and teaches the violin. Both are currently Musical Directors of Cloughmore Male Voice Choir and Accolade All Community Choir Newry while also facilitating the development of Banbridge Chamber Orchestra.

Tickets for both events are free and are available on a first come first served basis from Iveagh Movie Studios, Banbridge. A maximum of four tickets may be issued to an individual. Guests attending may make a donation to the Council Chairman’s nominated charitable cause, Banbridge District Food Banks.
