Eggs on the menu at Mossley WI meeting

President Ann Graham welcomed members and visitors from Ballyclare, Carnmoney, Carrickfergus and Kells & Connor Women’s Institutes to the April meeting of Mossley WI.

Guest speaker Jean Stewart had brought along a large collection of decorated eggs, all made by herself. She described how they were made using either hen, duck, goose or ostrich eggs - the inside being blown out and the egg shell carefully cut, painted and lined to make such items as jewellery boxes, clocks and even a gold ‘Cinderella’ carriage.

Jean’s friend, Dorothy Brown, recited some humorous poetry in the middle of the demonstration and again at its conclusion.

Before supper, ballots were drawn, with a prize being won by each institute.

Knockagh Area Executive member, Margaret Stokes, thanked Mossley WI on behalf of the visitors.
