‘DUP will not be drawn into bins comment,’ says Paul Rankin
DUP councillor Paul Rankin said he and his party “would not be drawn to comment either way on rumours that the DUP are on the verge of withdrawing their support for the monthly black bin collection trial”.
Mr Rankin said: “I have already personally publicly stated that I am not a ‘cheer-leader’ for this trial scheme. The DUP position is that our support for this trial was always going to be kept ‘under review’.
“We understand that the findings of the trial will be available soon, in January or February and we will carefully consider them and also take into consideration the feedback from those ratepayers, who have experienced this trial, before reaching a conclusive stance.”
