Drop into the Iveagh for some blockbuster action

THE Iveagh Cinema is the ideal location to enjoy an evening of relaxation by taking in a movie while enjoying some drinks and snacks - but the Movie Studios at Downshire Place have hosted theirfair share of celebrities over the years too.

The most recent- and undoubtedley most famous of all - was Lady Gaga when she dropped by for a rehearsal last November ahead of the MTV Music Awards in Belfast. This coup followed years of celeb visits and exciting events at the studio, which regularly hosts concerts and plays.

Television presenter Barry Norman visited the location in 2007, much to the delight of staff pictured with him.

The studio hosted a charity screening of popular film Mickybo and Me a few years back when the stars of the show, John Joe O’Neill and Niall Wright, as well as the movie’s director Terry Loane made a special visit to the cinema.

Eagerto remain involved with the local community, the business sponsored Ryan Maney of Banbridge Model Car Club. The studio are also very keen to support charity work, having hosted a very successful Children In Need event in 2004, and donated to Newry Hospice among many other charities.

In terms of community theatre the Movie Studios regularly host Banbridge Musical Society which never fails to provide the audience with a great night’s entertainment.

The Iveagh promotional crew have also been busy in recent years.

The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Championship at Antrim Castle Gardens, promoting the ‘Red Hot Chilli Pipers’ live gig at the Iveagh, a Treasure Hunt at the Outlet, and events at the Coach nite club are just some of the event shtey have attended.
