Dromore play area report is due
A REPORT on play provision at sites including Fairview Park, Dromore and Mossvale Terrace, Finnis, is due before the council's leisure and development committee this month.
Following the committee’s decision last year to appoint Groundwork NI and Playboard for the design and procurement of play provision in 2009-2011, intitial assessments were carried out at both the above play areas; also at the Old Play Park, Kinallen.
However, the Old Play Park, Kinallen is no longer in council ownership - it is owned by the southern Education and Library Board, which is responsible for the play equipment - and the council is therefore not considering any further work there.
A consultation exercise is ongoing with the residents adjacent to each of the remaining play areas.
