Dromore High host German exchange pupils

Following Dromore high School’s successful German Exchange Trip last year, 20 pupils from Realschule Oberlenningen came to visit Northern Ireland.

They arrived on Monday 19th October at Dublin Airport and travelled to Newcastle where they stayed at the YMCA Greenhill and took part in various outdoor activities including rock climbing, zip lining and archery.

On Wednesday they went to the North Coast to see the iconic Giants Causeway, followed by a visit to Portrush.

One of the visiting pupils, Noah Gere, said that this was his favourite part of his trip to Northern Ireland as “we do not have anything like the landscape of the Giant’s Causeway in Germany.”

Day four involved an historic trip to Stormont and the Titanic Museum where they gained an insight into the wide variety of cultural experiences Northern Ireland has to offer.

Jonathan Craig MLA hosted the students during their visit to the Northern Ireland Assembly.

In the Evening they attended a Halloween Disco at Dromore High School.

Dromore High School pupil, Eve Hughes, who hosted Noah, said: “This experience has been really good and I’ve enjoyed making lots of new friends.”
