Driving ban for local man

A 53-year-old man was banned from driving for eight weeks last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court.

Kenneth Peter Dutton, Weavers Court, Banbridge, was also fined £150 for driving without insurance on January 4 this year.

A £50 fine was imposed for not having a driving licence.

The court heard that the defendant, who was stopped while driving on the Dromore Road, Banbridge, had previously been disqualified from driving and had to re-sit his test.

He had not done this so the insurance did not cover him. His solicitor said he had passed the theory part of the test and now intended to re-sit his test.
