Employees at Marks and Spencer are inviting families and friends to join them at a charity fundraising event at The Outlet Village, Banbridge to raise much needed funds for The Donkey Sanctuary.
Representatives from the charity will visit the store on Saturday 8th August from 12-3pm when children will have the opportunity to meet, pet and have photographs taken with one of the Sanctuary’s donkeys.
The charity’s purpose built donkey assisted therapy centre has been in operation since 2011 and offers therapy to children and adults with additional needs and disabilities across Northern Ireland.
Lorraine Nelson, Centre Co-ordinator at The Donkey Sanctuary said: “Our wonderful family of donkeys have either been rescued or relinquished to us and have found a new and rewarding life.
Jenni Crozier, M&S The Outlet Store Manager said: “We are privileged and proud to be supporting The Donkey Sanctuary as the store’s chosen ‘Charity of the Year’ and look forward to meeting our new four-legged friends this Saturday at The Outlet Village, Banbridge.”
“We would encourage families to bring their kids along to meet the donkeys, have their photo taken and learn a bit more about how the charity is helping to not only transform the quality of life for donkeys, but also provide donkey assisted therapy to hundreds of local children and adults with additional needs.”
