Dolores Kelly may lose her Upper Bann seat

Early indications are that former SDLP Deputy Leader Dolores Kelly is set to lose her seat in the Northern Ireland Assembly.

At the election count in Banbridge, the candidate for Upper Bann appears to be out of the running as her main rival Sinn Fein candidate Catherine Seeley seems to be polling well.

With a turn out of around 54% in the Upper Bann constituency, Sinn Fein’s John O’Dowd and Catherine Seeley could both be set for the new Assembly.

The loss of Mrs Kelly could be a major blow to the SDLP locally.

She has been in the NI Assembly since its inception 12 years ago.
