The vehicle was out on two nights to coincide with the opening of a new club in the town.

“Thankfully, on both nights associated with the opening of Lanyon Hall, only a few individuals found themselves on the inside of this useful piece of police equipment,” said a police spokesperson.

“It’s deployment was successful and it is planned to make use of it again in the future.

“Over the two nights, local police worked together with colleagues from the dog unit, TSG and roads policing - with the cooperation of local licensees, door staff, and food outlets.

“Working in partnership with our internal and external partners helped to ensure that, for the great majority, both nights were an enjoyable Cookstown experience and everyone got home safely.

“We had the additional presence of the Street Angels on Friday night - much appreciated and useful as always.”
