DoE investigates ‘odorous gas’
The Department for the Environment is investigating reports of pollution coming from Ballystrudder pumping station.
Islandmagee Community Development Association made the DOE aware of residents’ concerns regarding an “odorous gas” that has been prevailing from the station recently.
A DOE official responded: “I have tasked an officer to investigate a leakage from the pumping station that is causing pollution. “Also, I have passed your report onto the regulators of the pumping station to see if there is a fault that is causing the odour.”
