Didn’t declare penalty points

A 24 year old Rathfriland man who failed to declare penalty points when obtaining insurance, has been fined £50.

Appearing before Banbridge Magistrates Court last week was Daniel Noel Beck from Mourneview Park, Rathfriland.

The court heard how he had failed to disclose nine penalty points on his licence but during interview had made a full admission.

Deputy District Judge Ievers said this was a serious incident whereby Beck had tried to “pull the wool over the insurance company’s eyes.”

Beck was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
