Dalriada principal pays tribute to former pupil Una

THE principal of Dalriada School has paid tribute to the former pupil who was killed in a Scottish avalance at the weekend.

Dr Una Finnegan had been a popular pupil at Dalriada and yesterday (Monday), school principal Mr Tom Skelton offered condolences to her family.

He said: “On behalf of the Board of Governors, staff, pupils and former pupils of Dalriada School, I wish to offer our sincere condolences to the Finnegan family.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.

“The sudden death of Una in such tragic circumstances has greatly shocked and saddened our entire school community.

“Una was a very personable, bright girl who was popular with pupils and staff alike. Her love for life and school was evident to all who knew her and was reflected in her warm, winning smile.

“She was a talented student who was involved in all aspect of school life. She will be greatly missed,” he concluded.
