Curran welcomes community meetings schedule with police

Councillor Brendan Curran has welcomed the news that Banbridge Policing and Community Safety Partnership will be facilitating public meetings with the police and the public to discuss issues of concern to the community.

“The key to any successful policing service is policing with the community and it has to be a two way conversation,” he said.

“These meetings will give an ideal opportunity for community groups and individual citizens to come along and have their voice heard.”

Key issues from these meetings will be presented at a PCSP Policing Committee meeting on June 11 when the PCSP Political and Independent Members meet with the local PSNI Area Commander to monitor local police performance.

The dates and times for the remaining meetings are:

• Gilford Area – May 13 at 7.30pm in Gilford Community Centre Committee Room.

• Banbridge Town – May 29 at 7.45pm in Banbridge Bowling Pavilion

• Dromore – 4 June at 7.30pm in the Town hall, Market Square. This meeting is run by Dromore CPLC
