Worst junction in Banbridge

A Katesbridge driver charged with driving without due care and attention has been given an absolute discharge, after the local court heard how she was involved in a minor accident at a notoriously difficult junction.

Barbara McNally (65) from Iveagh Road, was given three penalty points for her part in the accident which occurred on 18 August last.

A PPS Prosecutor explained how the two car accident happened at the Scarva Road traffic lights.

Solicitor Mr Michael Gillen said his client had been driving for 45 years with an exemplary record. “This happened at the most difficult junction in Banbridge near the supermarket.”

District Judge Mr Copeland said he would take all factors into account.
