When police searched a house in Banbridge they found four banger-type fireworks in a bedroom drawer, the local court heard last Thursday.
Diane Farrell (35), whose address was given as Drumreagh Park, Rostrevor, was fined £200 for possession of fireworks without a licence on February 19 this year.
She was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that a search was carried out at a Banbridge address where the defendant was present.
Four ‘bangers’ were located in a bedroom drawer and she said she must have had them from the previous October.
A solicitor representing Farrell said she had confiscated the bangers from her son and put them in the drawer intending to dispose of them but she forgot about them.
