Warrant issued for man convicted of threatening to kill woman

A bench warrant has been issued for a Banbridge man who has been convicted of violent crimes in his absence at court.

Carl Walker, aged 21, failed to turn up to Newry court yesterday to answer serious charges.

In his absence, Walker, from Edenderry Park in Banbridge was convicted of two offenses.

The first was of criminal damage that he damaged a window belonging to a woman.

The second was threatening to kill the same woman.

Both offenses occurred on March 29 this year.

Walker failed to turn up to court to answer to the charges and was convicted in his absence.

A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.
