A 37-year-old man took his sister’s vehicle without her consent and he was not insured, Banbridge Magistrates Court heard last Thursday.
Anthony McGivern, Ballygowan Park, Banbridge, admitted driving without insurance on November 27 last year and taking the vehicle without consent.
The court heard that at approximately 11.30pm police received a report of a car being driven in Ballygowan Park.
It had been damaged and the wing mirror was hanging off.
McGivern admitted he had been driving it without the permission of the owner and claimed he did not know how the damage was caused.
The defendant’s sister said he had taken the car without her permission.
A solicitor representing McGivern said that he could not find his licence.
The case was adjourned until April 24 to allow the defendant to apply for a licence.
