A 23-year-old man who urinated in the street told Banbridge Magistrates Court last Thursday he was sorry but that he ‘really needed to go’.
Andrew Herron, Heron Wood, Dromore, was fined £100 for indecent behaviour on November 14 last year.
He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that at 1.30am on the Dromore Road, Banbridge, Herron was seen by a police mobile patrol.
He was standing on the pavement and urinating into the traffic. He had two previous convictions for similar offences.
The defendant, who pleaded guilty himself in court, said he would ‘like to apologise for my actions but I really had to go’.
District Judge John Meehan asked him if he really needed to face the road.
Herron replied that he didn’t think he was facing the road.
He added that this was a case of the defendant getting drunk and doing this which would be highly embarrassing for him.
