A 25-year-old man faced a drugs charge last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court after police noticed the smell of cannabis in a car in which he was sitting.
Kenneth George Doolan, The Poplars, Donacloney, was fined £150 for possession of a class C drug, cannabis, on December 15 last year.
The court police noticed a car parked in the corner of a car park. It contained two occupants and the defendant was in the driver’s seat.
There was a smell of cannabis coming from the car and a small amount of the drug was found. Doolan admitted possession of the cannabis.
A solicitor for the defendant said he had a previous conviction four years ago and there was nothing else pending.
