Police investigate Belmont ‘incident’

POLICE are investigating an alleged attack on a woman at the Belmont Hotel, Banbridge, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It follows reports of an incident involving a man and woman in the grounds of the hotel either during or after the weekly Saturday evening nightclub at the venue.

A spokesperson for the PSNI confirmed ‘an incident’ was being investigated but declined to comment further.

“Police are investigating an incident alleged to have occurred at Rathfriland Road, Banbridge, in the early hours of Sunday,” the spokesperson said. “There are no further details at present.”
